James William Goodwin (Alumni) Class of 1922
Gr aduated from the Univer sity of Illinois in 1926. He
became a well-known businessman wor king with his
father at the Goodwin Funer al Home. He was active
in many ser vice or ganizations and a philanthropist
to all in Clinton County. As an avid tennis player, he
actively suppor ted the high school team, the city
tennis tour nament, and the summer tennis progr am.
T he Goodwin Tennis Picnic was an annual event,
usually hosting more than 100 tennis player s per
year for over 40 years.
